D/A Clock

D/A Clock by Alvin Aronson, this video will make you want one.
This object plays on the common LED-display digital clock with physical segments that slowly fade in and out of a white surface. The D/A Clock introduces new characteristics to the digital mediation of time: a physical dimension and intermediate states – the time between 0 and 1.

[...] Today and Tomorrow continued the chain on the D/A Clock. This thing has been spreading across every website I read, and for good reason. The artist’s (Alvin Aronson) site is here, but it’s the video here that will make an instant sale. The only thing that’s weird about the piece is that the portfolio description puts it at about a foot and a half long, but the one in the video looks much larger (based on my extensive knowledge of how big power drills like the one in the background are). Either way, I’m in, even if it turns out like that Optimus Keyboard that was doing the internet rounds a few years ago and took forever to really release. Posted in Art, To Buy (Wishlist).
