Nearly every artist draws upon other artists…Spencer Fitch hardly has the market on “naturally occuring color”, and Brick Lane remix looks nothing at all like this..

I couldn’t believe this when I saw this. No doubt it is beautiful, but it is a complete rip off of two of my favourite artists. Firstly, David Batchelor, who in about 1996 (?) made a series of works called Brick Lane remix, that are shown in exactly the same way as this work. His work is about the “new colour” that has become everyday occurance in the city and secondly, Spencer Finch, who’s work is about reproducing naturally occuring colour. In this case, a sunset. I can’t believe that someone would be so brazen.
