The work “Crushed Cayenne” is a cynical answer to the hedonistic consum and lifestyle in the 21th century. Build out of found material “Crushed Cayenne” is a one to one model of a crushed SUV (sport utility vehicle).
These cars become more and more popular in the last years, and almost each car producer has developed it’s own SUV , although they use a lot more petrol and space and produces more co2 output than “normal” cars.
Cerenkovs Dream by Eno Henze is an technological objet trouvé. It is made of 4 Led Panels, a power adapter and an image processor. I would like to see a video of this installation.
Alice Wang designed 5 “Chairs for the Dysfunctional”. The “Skilled Tilter” would fit me perfectly, it would also be interesting to try out the “Constant Shaker”. It calculates the amount of calories burnt when one fidgets or shakes their leg when sitting down. The “Status Announcer” would be for everyone with a Facebook or Twitter account.
DATAFLUX 0.1 is an installation by Kit Webster, a sound and strobe light synchronisation are mapped onto pillars. It is very similar to the work of Pablo Valbuena, WHITEvoid or AntiVJ. But I still can’t get enough of these kind of videos.
“The Seed” is a short film made by Johnny Kelly about nature’s life cycle. He used a mixture of stop motion papercraft and 2D drawn animation. It was commissioned by Adobe to promote their Creative Suite 4. On the Adobe Artists website, you can see the work of Nando Costa, work by Genevieve Gauckler & Erik Natzke and Cisma will be added later this month.
Bless presented these Duo Fringe Glasses last September in Paris, they are part from their Nothingneath collection. I’m probably going to have a good laugh when I ever see someone with these. The idea is interesting though.
If you still want to spend €200 on them, head over to Colette.
