Irina Shaposhnikova ‘Crystallographica’
June 22nd, 2009I like polygons and the graduation collection of Irina Shaposhnikova called ‘Crystallographica’ is full of it. These photos were taken by Sonny Vandevelde, backstage during the Show 2009 of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

Thank you for this astonishing piece of inspiration. I think the video could have been shorter, as it tends to be less dramatic in the second half, but the atmosphere created is terrific.

So looking forward to having cone bra’s back in fashion! Curious if the pants are actually fractal like the tops or its just a print. Either way its very eye catching.

When KB posted a magazine scan from Russian Vogue, Jen from knit kicks did some research and BANG – Russian knit-designer Irina Shaposhnikova who studied at the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts – stood in the online-limelight. Several Blogs and Fashion sites featured her work as a student and continued when Irina Shaposhnikova surprised again with her outstanding graduate collection “Crystallographica”.
