Triump is the title of Aleksandra Mir‘s new exhibition project at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt, Germany. She placed an advert in a local Sicilian daily paper asking for sporting throphies. The response was enormous, she collected 2,529 trophies. Each of them have an engraving and tell a personal story of specific sport event.

Continue Time Clock

July 16th, 2009

This clock called “Continue Time” was designed by Sander Mulder. He connected the seconds hand to the minutes hand to the hours hand, the result is kinetic artwork that changes it shape continiously during a 12 hours rotation.
Of course, this isn’t a new clock concept, I’ve seen one before but it didn’t look so nice as this one with its open brass clockwork and aluminum hands. If you want a digital version, you should have a look at The Hand in Hand Clock by Johan Bisse Mattsson.

So, how much is that Cannes Gold Lion really worth?

July 15th, 2009

The Belgian digital agency Boondoggle won 5 Gold Lions at Cannes this year. They wanted to know how much these trophies are worth, so they visited the Pelikaanstraat in Antwerp, Belgium, the world’s biggest centre for the diamond and gold trade …
This is a very nice way to let people know that you did well at Cannes this year and having a laugh about it at the same time.

Juan José Padilla

July 15th, 2009

Juan José Padilla is a Spanish bullfighter like you would image them. This photo was taken on July 12, 2009, just before the sixth bullfight of the San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain. I don’t want to judge the whole festival, but this photo is badass. You can see more of them at The Big Picture, but be warned some are very bloody.
