Maserati Boomerang

October 2nd, 2009

This is the Maserati Boomerang, a concept car from 1971. I don’t believe that current concept cars will look that fresh in 40 years. The Boomerang is a beast, just look at the wheels.

Helicopter Boyz In Yomiuri Land

October 1st, 2009

Some time ago, Nikon launched a new camera with a built-in projector, the Coolpix S1000pj. GT Tokyo strapped some of these cameras onto the Helicopter Boyz and let them take some pictures. The Boyz then did their live dance performance at Yomiuri Land with the cameras still strapped onto them. Great stuff!

The Oldest Living Things In The World

October 1st, 2009

Rachel Sussman photographed some of “The Oldest Living Things In The World”. This actinobacteria from Siberia is supposed to be over 400,000 years old. Mind blowing.

But actually this La Llareta from the atacama dessert in Chile, has the best looks for its age, it can be up to 3,000 years old.

Breakfast Machine

October 1st, 2009

Almost 3 weeks ago, Yuri Suzuki and Masa Kimura started to build the Breakfast Machine during Platform21 = Jamming in Amsterdam. The machine is a Rube Goldberg machine which can serve you an omelet, coffee and a toast with jam.
Yuri and Masa invited other designers and the public to help build and design the machine. They’ve used recycled remnants of previous Platform21 projects to solve all the different problems to get to their goal.
Last weekend the machine was ready and served all-day breakfasts to the visitors.

This video is actually in Dutch but you can see the Breakfast Machine in action.
