ASCIImeo is a project by Peter Nitsch. It’s a video player which renders Vimeo videos in ASCII. You can choose between 3 different modes, but the block mode is definitely my favorite. Here you can see the ASCIImeo version of Scintillation. The screenshots below are cropped, I didn’t want to scale them down, the color patterns are just too nice.

Antagonistic Books is a set of two books made by Zach Gage. They turn the emotions and actions surrounding the banning of books into physical objects that undermine the user. The first book, Danger, reenacts what has historically been done to dangerous literature, self-immolating when opened. The second book, Curiosity, represents the notion that many book-banners feel, that the true danger of literature is that once you’ve opened a book you have been forever changed and can never go back. Emulating this notion, Curiosity can never be closed. Once opened, it is locked in an open position forever.
You find instruction to make them yourself here and here.
These photos by Ansen Seale aren’t digitaly manipulated. He uses slit-scan photography.

“La Maîtresse de la Tour Eiffel” is the title of an installation by Michel de Broin. The largest mirror ball ever made was suspended from a construction crane 50 meters above the ground to render the starry sky to the citizens of Paris for one night in the Jardin du Luxembourg during the Nuit Blanche event.

This is very cool visualisation of magnetism. Unfortunately I don’t have any info about this photo. If anyone knows something about it, please leave a comment. The artist who made this is Caleb Charland, thanks for the info Robin!
