			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Nike Music Shoe is an awesome ad for the <a title="Nike" href="http://www.nike.com" target="_blank">Nike</a> Free Run+ shoe. In the video you can see <a title="Hifana" href="http://www.hifana.com/" target="_blank">Hifana</a> doing a live performance by using the shoes as controllers. By bending the flexible sole of the Nike Free Run+, they can control different sounds. I&#8217;m actually pretty sure that it is real because I think that I spotted <a title="Daito Manabe" href="http://daito.ws/" target="_blank">Daito Manabe</a> in the video. And we all know <a title="Daito Manabe @ today and tomorrow" href="http://www.todayandtomorrow.net/?s=Daito+Manabe" target="_blank">what he&#8217;s capable of</a>. I guess they&#8217;ve used some flexible sensors and hooked them up to MaxMSP. Great work!</p>

Indeed the shoes used in the video are the real sound controllers. <a href="http://www.harshush.com/" title="Tomoaki Yanagisawa" target="_blank">Tomoaki Yanagisawa</a> of <a href="http://456.im/" title="4nchor5 la6" target="_blank">4nchor5 la6</a> was responsible for the hardware part. He added flexible and accelerometer sensors to the shoes. <a title="Daito Manabe" href="http://daito.ws/" target="_blank">Daito Manabe</a> of <a href="http://www.rhizomatiks.com" title="rhizomatiks" target="_blank">rhizomatiks</a> did the sound programming with Max.<br />
They were both commissioned by <a href="http://www.wktokyo.jp/" title="Wieden + Kennedy Tokyo" target="_blank">Wieden + Kennedy Tokyo</a> for <a href="http://nike.jp/musicshoe/" title="Nike Music Shoe" target="_blank">this project</a>.</p>

He decided to launch a weather balloon with a chair attached to it. The audience could follow the live video feed on a large screen. A typical art project.<br />
In 2009, the advertising agency <a title="Grey London" href="http://www.grey.co.uk/" target="_blank">Grey London</a> did </span>The Space Chair Project for their client Toshiba. They also launched a chair with a weather balloon, except that they used HD cameras to create the highest HD TV ad in the world. But somehow they don&#8217;t mention Simon Faithfull anywhere &#8230;</p>
<p>Update: According to <a href="http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/29575/making-of-toshiba-space-chair" target="_blank">this article</a>, Simon was part of the team who did the ad.</p>

So did <a title="adidas Y-3" href="http://www.adidas.com/y-3" target="_blank">adidas Y-3</a>, <a title="adidas Y-3 Spring / Summer 2009 @ today and tomorrow" href="http://www.todayandtomorrow.net/2009/03/02/adidas-y-3-spring-summer-2009/" target="_blank">last season</a> was all about surveillance cameras, this time the campaign is called &#8220;Satellite&#8221;. The website is once again a very nice execution of this concept, the digital glitches during the transitions are top notch.  When it comes to the apparel, well it&#8217;s adidas Y-3, it&#8217;s not for everybody but there some nice pieces in the collection.<br />

They came up with <a title="Playface" href="http://www.playface.jp/" target="_blank">The Playface</a>: &#8220;<em>It’s that face you make when you are playing video games and concentrating so much that you don’t even realize the kind of expressions you are making. And everyone has a different one.&#8221;</em> They filmed 50 people  in the heat of gaming and I must say that the footage cools very good. This might actually sound familiar to you. <a title="Robbie Cooper" href="http://www.robbiecooper.org/" target="_blank">Robbie Cooper</a> did a similar project a while ago called &#8220;<a title="Immersion by Robbie Cooper @ YouTube" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfOUhwhdUV0&amp;fmt=18" target="_blank">Immersion</a>&#8220;.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;m a real fan of <a title="Man Men" href="http://www.amctv.com/originals/madmen/" target="_blank">Mad Men</a>, a TV series by AMC about the men and women of Madison Avenue advertising in the 1960&#8242;s. The acting, art direction and camera work are outstanding.<br />
The advertising agency <a title="GSD&amp;M Idea City" href="http://www.ideacity.com/" target="_blank">GSD&amp;M Idea City</a>, a real one, came up with the idea to do a collaboration between Mad Men, BMW and Vanity Fair. They produced on the set of Mad Men and with the show’s stylists and art director, a 5 page pictorial fold-out which will be published in the September issue of Vanity Fair. The idea behind is that America’s perceptions of diesel is still stuck in the 1960’s and wanted to juxtapose this with reality.<br />
What about that? Mad Men really advertise something.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Advertising people really like to pick up new things they&#8217;ve seen on the internet to use in their work. A good example would be augmented reality applications. Sample apps have been around for years but since a Flash based solution called <a title="FLARToolKit" href="http://www.libspark.org/wiki/saqoosha/FLARToolKit" target="_blank">FLARToolKit</a> popped up <a title="Desktop Fireworks @ today and tomorrow" href="http://www.todayandtomorrow.net/2008/09/01/desktop-fireworks/" target="_blank">last summer</a>, every cool ad kid seems to propose it to his clients.<br />
So what&#8217;s next? Tilt-shift time-lapse aesthetics. The <a title="Uniqlo Calender @ today and tomorrow" href="http://www.todayandtomorrow.net/2009/06/10/uniqlo-calender/" target="_blank">Uniqlo Calender</a> would be a good example. <a title="Keith Loutit" href="http://keithloutit.com/" target="_blank">Keith Loutit</a> is the online star of this kind of videos, watch them in <a title="Keith Loutit @ Vimeo" href="http://vimeo.com/keithloutit" target="_blank">his Vimeo account</a>.<br />
McCann Malmö asked Keith and <a title="Upper First" href="http://www.upperfirst.com/" target="_blank">Upper First</a> to do an ad for <a title="Colorama" href="http://www.colorama.se/" target="_blank">Colorama</a>, a Swedish paint brand. The result is a very nice TV ad with a twist. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a title="Crispin Porter + Bogusky" href="http://cpbgroup.com/" target="_blank">Crispin Porter + Bogusky</a> is one of the hottest advertising agencies around with an amazing portfolio. The only problem they have is <a title="Crispin Porter + Bogusky" href="http://cpbgroup.com/" target="_blank">their current website</a>, it is not and never was a good website. That website is actually that old that I don&#8217;t remember an older version of it.<br />
Yesterday they made <a title="Crispin Porter + Bogusky beta" href="http://beta.cpbgroup.com/" target="_blank">the beta version of their new website</a> available to the public. I&#8217;m happy that they didn&#8217;t go the Wieden+Kennedy road, which is a 2 year old Flash monster, they don&#8217;t even update their timeline anymore.<br />
The CP+B beta site is very reduced, they only show the logos of a few of their clients and present their work through videos and links to external websites. That&#8217;s it, no big write up on how they did their award winning campaign, the works speaks for itself.<br />
Below their work you find 3 columns where the aggregate content. 2 columns are dediced to the client, one with links to traditional media news and one to blog posts related to the brand. The left column shows all the tweets from and <a title="Alex Bogusky @ Twitter" href="http://twitter.com/bogusky" target="_blank">@Bogusky</a>, plus tweets about CP+B. They claim that they will not filter anything, a bold move!<br />
In a few weeks they will release Nude, the code behind this site, as an open source project. Another bonus point.<br />

This years winner of the Grand Prix was <a title="Fiat Eco:Drive" href="http://www.fiat.co.uk/ecodrive/" target="_blank">Fiat eco:Drive</a> by the agency <a title="AKQA London" href="http://akqa.com/" target="_blank">AKQA London</a>.<br />
Fiat eco:Drive is system that is very similar to Nike+. When you plugin in an USB stick in to your Fiat, all the data of your drive will be saved on it. Back at home, you can upload that data to a small piece of software that analyses and visualizes it. Then you&#8217;ll get tips how to drive more efficient and save fuel to be more eco friendlier. Etc etc &#8230; I just love projects like this one, an excellet combination of the online and offline world.<br />
