Will It Blend x Nike Air Max 90

August 15th, 2008

Nike is really pushing it lately. New technologies, new products, events and tons of projects … you just can’t get around it. So I just came across this video on the Nike Sportswear website. It’s a cooperation between ‘Will It Blend‘ and Nike. Everyone knows those ‘Will It Blend’ videos, but this time Nike asked them to blend a true classic, the Air Max 90 Infrared with the new Air Max Current. The result is an Air Max 90 Current Infrared, not really a surprise.
I think this is the first time I see a brand destoying its own product on video (besides the car industry). Most brands are so anxious about thing like that.
By the way, it’s really nice to see Nike shifting away from full flash websites to hybrid ones. I also like the new look of them. Hey Nike! Now fix the Nike+ website asap!

Light Show

July 31st, 2008

This is quite a nice TV commercial for Guinness, unfortunatly the beer itself isn’t that good.

Mad Men

July 27th, 2008

Tonight is the premiere of the second season of Mad Men. Yeah! If you live in the USA at least. But if you want to catch up and see the first season, then you’ll have to get this DVD box.
For those of you don’t know what Mad Men is all about:

The series (set in the 1960s) revolves around the conflicted world of Don Draper, the biggest ad man (and ladies man) in the business, and his colleagues at the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency. As Don makes the plays in the boardroom and the bedroom, he struggles to stay a step ahead of the rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels. The series also depicts authentically the roles of men and women in this era while exploring the true human nature beneath the guise of 1960s traditional family values.

Nike Lab Spider

July 14th, 2008

This is nice TV spot for the Nike Lab; the idea isn’t that groundbreaking, but the execution is excellent.

Audi Symphony

July 9th, 2008

‘Audi Symphony’ is an audio visual composition created by the promotion agency Bullet for the launch of the Audi R8 in Brasil. It was performed during ‘The Art Of Performance’ event in São Paulo. 41 musicians, 1 meastro and 3 Dj’s took the stage, backed up with 3 large video projections. The result is the perfect soundtrack to the videos of the Audi R8.

Be KANYE

July 1st, 2008

Be Kanye is a viral campaign for Absolut Vodka, starring Kanye West. Would you like to have famous superstar power? Then prepare yourself for the miracle of … Be Kanye.

‘Ordering Be Kanye was the ABSOLUT best thing I’ve ever done for myself.’

You have to give him some credit for this, and I still love that video for ‘Can’t tell me Nothing‘.

Rediscover The Softness Of Wool

June 26th, 2008

These 3 ads were made by TBWA Paris and photographed by Vincent Fournier. I only show you these because of the imagery and the wool clothing. Maybe the art or creative director has a wool fetish.

Stained Glass

June 23rd, 2008

Stained Glass is a project by Posterchild, he does streetart. He placed a variation of the Pixelator over HD screens installed over subway entrances in New York. It basically difusses the light of the screen and turns the video ads in an animated stained glass piece. Blah blah blah … watch the video.

Beautiful!!!

Advertising is like porn

June 13th, 2008

Blank is Like Blank‘ is a blog by Justin Feinstein, the tag line is ‘Analogies to live by’. His current one is ‘Advertising is like porn’.

Advertising is like porn
They both have weird self-congratulatory award shows.

… which reminds me, Cannes Lions starts this sunday.
Other good ones:

Advertising is like porn
The same concepts are endlessly recycled.

Advertising is like porn
Working in the industry will affect your family life at some point.
