I would be soo happy to see such nice clouds over Berlin! But no, it doesn’t look like that the winter will end soon. I’ve actually been offline during the last few days because they can’t connect my new place to the internetz due to the frozen ground.

No, these aren’t some abstract paintings or some generative art, but photos from the surface of Mars. The NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has been orbiting Mars since 2006 at a height approximately 300 km. The MRO has a very good camera on board: the HiRISE, the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment camera, which has a resolution of a few inches per pixel. Rachel Sussman photographed some of “The Oldest Living Things In The World”. This actinobacteria from Siberia is supposed to be over 400,000 years old. Mind blowing.

But actually this La Llareta from the atacama dessert in Chile, has the best looks for its age, it can be up to 3,000 years old.

This an amazing photo of the solar transit of the space shuttle Atlantis, made by Thierry Legault on May 12th. The duration of the transit was only 0.3 seconds and the shuttle was in orbit at a height of 260 km. I’ll be in Hamburg on April 1st and 2nd, for the first time ever … shame on me … maybe. So I need some tips, where to go to, exhibitions, galleries, shops … Is there some website like berlin.unlike but for Hamburg? Hamburg is like a blank sheet of paper to me. Thanks!
