July 14th, 2011

Just like last year, I’m organizing a SPEED SHOW next Thursday, July 21st, in Berlin. A SPEED SHOW is an exhibition format developed by Aram Bartholl.

The basic idea of this exhibition format is to create a gallery like opening situation for browser based internet art in a public cyber-cafe / internet-shop for one night. The exhibition format is free and can be applied by anyone at any place.

The titel of this years SPEED SHOW is “YOUR BROWSER IS MY KINGDOM”. There won’t be just animated gifs, but all kinds of different browser artworks.

So I invite you all to come and bring you friends and your friends’ friends!
Here are the details for the SPEED SHOW:

Thursday 21th of July 2011, 20:00 – 23:00
or@nien net
Oranienstrasse 185, Berlin

today and tomorrow 5th birthday

July 21st, 2010

Indeed, today and tomorrow is turning 5 today. I don’t know what that means in internet years, but I guess that parents wouldn’t call it cute anymore.
The first big thing today is the fact that today and tomorrow finally has a logo! Of course I couldn’t do it myself, as proven during the last 5 years. I had to ask a friend to design it. So, thank you very much mister Paul Snowden! If I can get this far after 5 years without one, imagine where today and tomorrow will be in 2015 with one.
So what up for today? Well, there going to be a few very nice guest posts later on today.
The finale is of course today and tomorrow’s 5th birthday SPEED SHOW. If you’re in Berlin tonight, make sure to drop by and say hi!

Note to the people who only read the feed: you’ll have to drop by to see the logo.

today and tomorrow’s 5th birthday SPEED SHOW

July 15th, 2010

Next Wednesday it’s today and tomorrow’s 5th birthday. To celebrate this, I’m organizing a SPEED SHOW. It’s an exhibition format developed by Aram Bartholl, this is the manifest:

Hit an Internet-cafe, rent all computers they have and run a show on them for one night. All art works of the participating artists need to be on-line (not necessarily public) and are shown in a typical browser with standard plug-ins. Performance and life pieces may also use pre-installed communication programs (instant messaging, VOIP, video chat etc). Custom software (except browser add-ons) or off-line files are not permitted. Any creative physical modification to Internet cafe itself is not allowed. The show is public and takes place during normal opening hours of the Internet cafe/shop. All visitors are welcome to join the opening, enjoy the art (and to check their email.)

So here are the details for the today and tomorrow’s 5th birthday SPEED SHOW:

Wednesday 21th of July 2010, 21:00 – 00:00

Wallpaper Fabulous 40 Online

October 11th, 2009

Wow, today and tomorrow is featured in the Fabulous 40 Online of Wallpaper.com! I feel quite honored to see today and tomorrow between others like TED, we make money not art, FFFFOUND!, VVORK and It’s Nice That.
But I don’t really understand why Wallpaper and Poke decided to use Flash to display the list.

Regeneration

August 22nd, 2009

Regeneration by Darren Booth

Regeneration. I need it. The next 2 weeks are going to be quiet around here. For the first time in almost 4 years I’ll try to have a longer break from today and tomorrow, I’ll try to regenerate. I’m not really feeling comfortable about it, maybe I’ll back online by Monday …
today and tomorrow will be back in full force on Monday September 7th, mark it in your calendar! In the meantime, have fun with the archive.

See ya,

Pieter

P.S.: Here’s a little hint where I’ll be … you’ll need to understand German though.

And the nice typo on top was made by Darren Booth.
