Icemelt

March 17th, 2011

Here’s another project by Mark Beasley: Icemelt. An arduino and CRT monitor powered off of a 12v car battery. The arduino measures the voltage of the battery as it entropies and draws a corresponding ice cube on the CRT.  As the battery dies the ice cube melts until the battery looses the capacity to power either device. You can watch a video of it here.

Quadratura

March 15th, 2011

Of all the video projection on architecture projects out there, I still like Pablo Valbuena his best. One of his latest projects is called Quadratura, a site-specific installation presented at Matadero Madrid, Spain. Quadratura was the technique used in the baroque to extended architecture through trompe l’oeil and perspective constructions generated with paint or sculpture.

Ron van der Ende

March 10th, 2011

It’s been a while since I’ve posted some works by Ron van der Ende, but Designboom reminded me today of how great his artworks are. These bas-reliefs are made of salvaged wood keeping their original colors. Impressive.
