Dekochari is typical Japanese phenomenon, deko is short for decoration and chari is slang for bike. Dekochari are actually the kids version of dekotora, which are decorated trucks. Satoshi Minakawa made these photos of these awesome vehicles.

Keirin is a Japanese type of track cycling event, every fixed gear rider knows this. Danny Baarz made this short movie about Norio Takasugi, a fictitious keirin champion, to promote the Keirin Berlin store. Just take a deep breath and watch it.

Macaframa is the name of a crew of track bike riders but also the name of a film about them. In this first clip you can see a quite impressive skid by Nate Gogol. But actually all their clips on Vimeo are worth watching, some of them were shot with a high speed camera and the image quality is just lush.

‘Made In Queens‘ is a short documentary directed by Nicolas Randall and Joe Stevens. It’s about a small crew of 6 Trinidaidian teenagers in Queens, New York, who customize their BMX bikes with huge soundsystems. They gave their bikes even names:
Basszilla, which looks definitely louder than in that November 2007 The New York Times article.
