Erased Classic is a collection of carpets by Jan Kath. They are based on classic patterns from Italian wall coverings and Indian saris. The carpets are produced by weavers at manufacturing sites in Kathmandu. But their final look is caused by acid, which makes the patterns fade and disappear. The customer cannot only define the color, materials, size, knot density, and design, but also the degree of erosion.

“Subconscious Effect of Daylight” is a side table by Daniel Rybakken, or maybe it’s a lamp … Underneath the tabletop there’s a lamp which gives the illusion of the sun shining through a window because of the artificial shadows that are cast to the floor.

When it comes to product design, I’m a real fan of simple but good ideas. This table lamp called “Drawing Lamp” by Thomas Feichtner would be an excellent example. Although I’m curious to see it lit.
This is the Downside Up Table by Claire Ferreira, its name actually describes the production process. A bio-reson called Jesmonite is poured into a hollow wooden base with some slits in it. The resin can then escape through those slits and form the table top. It’s that simple.
