Joshua Allen Harris, the artist responsible for those Plastic Bag Animals in New York, has made 2 new ones: the Air Subway Monster and the Air Monkey. I’m quite impressed with their size!

September 12th, 2007

2 months ago, the pictures and videos by Lichtfaktor did their rounds through the internet. Well it got them a small advertising job for Sky’s Star Wars vs Star Trek weekend, Sky showed all 6 Star Wars and 10 Star Trek movies in one weekend. Lichtfaktor did this nice video, just the music is anoying.

I know that the pictures of lichtfaktor got picked up by every blog by now. But I just found this video by his partner in legal crime, jiar.grafikfiti. I know that the image quality isn’t that good, but the soundtrack is by Aphex Twin!

Hektor prints

July 2nd, 2007

hektor.jpgI’ve been a fan of Hektor, a portable Spray-paint Output Device for laptop computers, for years now. I’m not going to explain how it works and what it does, just check the website. Hektor just had an exhibition at Riviera in Brooklyn, New York, and they now sell prints for $150. You can see some picture of the exhibition at flickr.
I’m still waiting for some advertising campaign to pick up this ‘technology’ … . Or does anyone have an example? And no, ‘Bikes Against Bush‘ doesn’t count.

Copycats

July 2nd, 2007

People who work in advertising are just copycats … like we didn’t knew that before … They just pick up some idea somewhere else, mostly in art, and put in on a brand. This time it’s 2 new commercials for Sprint, an US mobile carrier, they used the light grafitti concept which we saw here and here ages ago ;-)
Anyway, the visual effect is great.

Backjumps is a Berlin magazine about urban communication and aesthetic and since 2003 they organize a biennial exhibition. I have some more pictures at my flickr set, but unfortunately the battery of my camera went dead …
So if you’re around, go an visit it for free till August 19th.
