John Maeda x Reebok Timetanium Ventilator

November 6th, 2007

The Reebok Timetanium Ventilator could have been the ultimate product for me: computer generated graphics by John Maeda combined with a sneaker! Unfortunately the sneaker looks … well I’m really disappointed. 100 pairs will be available on RbkCustom on November 13th.

Reebok posted a video on YouTube with John Maeda, at least the source code is on the insole.
More pictures of the sneaker here and here.

John Maeda

November 1st, 2005

John Maeda is a world-renowned graphic designer, visual artist, and computer scientist at the MIT Media Lab, and is a founding voice for “simplicity” in the digital age. I have some of his books and his work just blows me away.

Now he designed a skateboard for Mekanism.

This board is called “thrrrrrrust2, the concept is two thousand little arrows arranged
in a collage as a kind of representation of “thrust” as often seen in physics films.

Ofcourse I ordered one.

Here’re some pictures of the launch party.
