Grindin’

March 4th, 2010

This is the music video for Grindin’ by Nobody Beats The Drum. It’s a very impressive stop motion piece made with 4085 photos, yet very simple. The music is … well not my cup of tea and you might want to turn down the volume. The making of video is actually quite entertaining.

Tour des Convoyeurs

March 2nd, 2010

AntiVJ made this light and sound installation called “Tour des Convoyeurs” during the Mutek festival in Montreal. We’ve seen video projections on buildings before, but the look and feel of this one is very nice.

Scratch Cassette

February 9th, 2010

Alexis Malbert a.k.a. TapeTronic knows how to handle oldskool audio cassettes. The first video shows you his different scratch cassettes, the second one some weird customised tapes and tapedecks.

Interactive CD Cover

January 26th, 2010

Hubero Kororo designed this interactive CD cover for the band Uceroz. When you open the CD packaging on the side, ink is set free and bleeds into the cover of the CD. I really like this idea.

Trash Sound Installations

January 20th, 2010

Here’re 2 videos of kinetic sound installations made by David Ellis and Roberto Carlos Lange. They’ve used trash to create these soundscapes. Believe me, you have to watch these.
You can find 2 more pieces at YouTube: Winchester and 3 Wire Universal.

A New Error

November 26th, 2009

I’m just back from the last Moderat concert ever (we’ll see about that). Moderat is/was the band project of Modeselektor and Apparat. The opening track, A new Error, of their first and last album is THE track of 2009.

New Stripes

November 23rd, 2009

New Stripes is a new PANORAMIC DIORAMA by Mitch Trale. It’s actually just an interactive 3D cube with a colorful texture. And some weird music.
