Drawing Pendulums
March 23rd, 2010Petros Vrellis made these 2 pendulums which can draw. He used openFrameworks and some electronics to let the pendulums drop ink at the right time on the right spot. The first one is called “Irrational pendulum” and draws a square. The whole process takes around 6 minutes. The video shows this at a faster speed.
The second one is called “A drawing pendulum”. The pendulum need 15 minutes to draw this face.

Acrylic on Flesh
March 16th, 2010Alexa Meade paints with acrylic on flesh (and clothing). So yeah, you could call them bodypaintings but they’re like nothing I’ve seen before. Stunning work!

March 12th, 2010New Overpainted Photographs
March 3rd, 2010Overpainted Photographs by Gerhard Richter is an ongoing series where he overpaints his own snapshots. I’ve posted some before, but I still like them. If you’re in Tokyo you can go and see some of them at the WAKO Works of Art till this Saturday.

Que Houxo
November 10th, 2009Que Houxo is a Japanese artist who does live paintings. His style is quite colorful, he uses fluorescent paints with black lights. These photos are from The Paint Players event and were made by Evan Roth. The video below is from another event, but it shows what you can espect when you go to one of his live sessions. I would definitely go if I had the chance.
