Here are 2 projects by the graphic designer Shaz Madani.

The second project: ‘Your journey made simple’.
A response designed to promote the M25 motorway. On one side the poster gives exact directions that would have to be taken in order to travel from one side of London to the other illustrating the complexity and confusion involved in taking alternative routes through the center of the city. The reverse side reads: “wipe away the confusion take the M25″.

Maze Posters by George Lewin reflect the daunting complexity of the structure of our language.

And as small bonus: his entry ‘Encapsulated the Fan’ for the Nike Art of Football competition that he did together with Tim Brown.

I’m glad no one is holding up this poster, we’ve seen that too often this year. But isn’t that a wooden floor … that is soo 2005, or was it 2006?

‘Transformations of Public Space’ by Denny Backhaus and Per Törnberg.
The posters were screen printed with a special ink that was mixed with a substitute gasoline smell that we found in an odor laboratory in Amsterdam, and perfumed another time afterwards to keep the smell fresh.
When the first posters were hung, people instantly started coming to us to complain about the disgusting smell of them. An effect that made us much happier than all nice words about the looks of the poster.
