Empty Words

October 8th, 2009

Empty Words is an installation by Jürg Lehni and Alex Rich. A plotter punches characters into paper, mechanically visualizing the artists’ favorite song titles. The sheets are installed as a narrative panorama on the gallery walls. Visitors are invited to produce their own artworks and to find the balance between auto-manifestation and technological constraint.
You can go and see it at the Swiss Institute Contemporary Art in New York till October 31st.

Digital Blackbook

October 7th, 2009

Digital Blackbook is the second version of Evan Roth his Graffiti Analysis project. It’s a tool that can capture graffiti tags, or actually any drawing, and visualise them afterwards in a very nice way.

Ogenblik Geduld A.u.b.

September 23rd, 2009

“Ogenblik Geduld A.u.b.” is a Dutch and means something like “a moment, please”, it’s also a series of typographic experiments by HOAX. They’ve used everyday materials found around the house to build installations. The idea was to find a way to use the most basic elements of programming, namely on/off.
Very cool stuff!

The Message

July 29th, 2009

I just rediscovered Bronco, a Berlin street artist, thanks to rebel:art.

The Message by Bronco

Sorry, the next one is in German. A rough translation would be “I can’t be amazed anymore”. You actually need to know that “Ich komm in das Staunen gar nicht mehr rein” is a variation of a German saying: “Ich komme aus dem Staunen gar nicht mehr raus”. Thanks to comments of Silvia and Mario, I can give you a better translation for Bronco’s piece: “I can’t get into the amazement anymore” (Silvia) or “I can’t even start to be amazed” (Mario). The translation of the orginal saying would be “I can’t stop to be amazed” (Mario).
Of course it’s a pity when you have to explain a joke, sorry for that.
